A big thanks to all of our donors who helped us raise 102% of our goal! With the funds raised, we were able to go to Peru and build a sustainable aquaponics system for farming fish and plants together for the local orphanage. If you would still like to contribute to ASU’s Global Resolve Club, gifts can now be made here: http://www.asufoundation.org/globalresolve

About Us: The Global Resolve Club promotes social entrepreneurship through projects that directly improve the lives of underprivileged people and nations. Students collaborate with faculty, international universities, residents of rural villages, local governments, financial institutions, and non-governmental organizations,
to design projects that focus on implementing innovative technological solutions to alleviate socio-economic issues (poverty, hunger, sanitation, and inadequate access to potable water, etc). The Club aims to bring together people of a variety of disciplines, to create a community that will increase the quality of these service projects.

Our Journey: Last year during March, we were able to travel to Cuzco, Peru and build a greenhouse for the orphanage, which has been and continues to be successful. During this process, we also identified other needs that can help the orphans live a better life style. Through numerous brainstorming sessions and meetings, our group came up with an eco-friendly and efficient project to build an aquaponics system. An aquaponics is a system for farming fish and plants together in a mutually beneficial cycle. Fish will produce waste which is a great fertilizer for the plants. As the plants roots absorb the fish waste it will purify the water, which is great for the fish. This will help the orphanage's living conditions and can be reliable for a source of income. Different plants can be grown as food sources such as potatoes and tomatoes, and a portion of the fish grown can be sold for income. This will help the orphanage be able to house more children in need. We will be traveling to Peru on March 6 to begin our journey for approximately a week and get our project going!

We have purchased our airfare for 10 students to travel to Cusco, Peru and help build an aquaponics system at the orphanage! We will be leaving Friday, March 6 in the morning and returning Sunday, March 15th in the morning; giving us plenty of time to construct the aquaponics and change the design if need to. Global Resolve would like to thank everyone for their support and donation to this campaign! You are truly helping these orphans receive a better life style. Again, this project would not have been successful without your help! Thank you!
